VERONA BIKE TOURS
VERONA BIKE TOURS
Verona was always in our plans. To get to the origins of our Verona bike tours you have to fly to the romantic Paris, that we explored by bicycle under a heavy day of rain in September, but still loving each street and corner! Having said that, which Italian city comes to your mind for quintessential romantic love and passion?
But don’t get us wrong, for us Verona is much more than “Romeo and Juliet”, while their passion is still echoing in our company’s romantic beginning, we have chosen Verona also for its rare beauty and lifestyle.
Close to Lake Garda and with its amazing landscape surrounded by hills and crossed by the Adige river, Verona is a UNESCO world heritage site and Italy’s fourth-most-visited city thanks mostly to its impressive Arena, the Roman Amphitheatre, and its association with the famous Shakespeare masterpiece.
What was a strategic Roman commercial and political center, is now a beautiful city with very well-preserved architectures, narrow streets, buzzing squares, such as Piazza delle Erbe, elegant buildings, baroque facades, stunning historic monuments and magnificent churches such as the Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore.
And what makes a visit even more worthy of its name is the wide variety of gourmet restaurant, ice cream vendors, fabulous shopping venues.

You start your bike tour jumping on the saddle of your bike near Castelvecchio Museum to head to Piazza Bra where you cannot escape a close encounter with the colossal pink-tinged marble Amphitheatre, the Roman Arena.
This is the city’s legendary open-air Opera House, where you, together with aficionados from all around the world, can live a night of world-class music lit by tens of thousands of candles.
Pedal till Porta Borsari, the ancient Roman gate that dates to the 1st century AD, and reach the Market Square, Piazza delle Erbe, once the town’s forum, during the time of the Roman Empire, and now a wonderful open-air market surrounded by historical buildings with frescoes and sculptures.
Blend yourself in the knot of lanes and honour with a visit to the Verona temple of love, Casa di Giulietta, at Via Cappello no. 23. Find a place in the small crowded courtyard, where you will find a bronze statue of Juliet, and imagine being hidden in the darkness and suddenly hear her at the balcony talking in the moonlight.
Back on your bike but still surrounded by pink floating hearts, you head to the central Medieval Piazza dei Signori e Arche Scaligere, where you admire beautiful buildings and join the vivacious atmosphere of the square before cycling towards the Adige River.
From Brà Molinari you have an amazing view of the city’s river and hills and, after stopping in front of the Duomo and crossing the ancient Roman arch bridge Ponte Pietra, prepare your legs: you leave your bikes for a little while to climb up to Castel San Pietro by a panoramic staircase.
Trust us you will be highly rewarded for your little effort by the spectacular ruins of the Roman theatre and by a breathtaking view of Verona.
Hop on your bicycle again and cross back over the river on the Scaliger bridge, a fortified bridge built in XIV century and unfortunately destroyed, along with the Ponte Pietra, by the retreating German troops on April 24, 1945, now faithfully rebuilt with original materials.
You end your Verona bike tour be with the magnificent Romanesque Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore where a beautiful Mantegna’s masterpiece is shielded.
Verona will win your heart at every corner.
